The EU funded project for "Further Institution and Capacity Building of the Police Service (FICB PS)” is organizing a mid-term event for presentation of the achievements during the first year of implementation, as well as presentation of one of the key documents produced – the Police Development Strategy 2016-2020. The event will take place at the EU InfoCentre on Wednesday, 27 January 2016, starting at 11:00 hrs.
The Police Development Strategy identifies the needs and potentials, and defines the development priorities of the Public Security Bureau for the next five years. This strategic document has been developed following an extensive consultation process and interviews conducted with the representatives of the corresponding organizational units at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other stakeholders from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, judiciary, academia, NGO sector, media and civil society.
The Strategy envisions development of a proactive model of policing, simplification of the organizational structure and advancement of the work methodology, compatible with the best European police practices, with the purpose of more efficient usage of resources.
Welcoming remarks will be delivered by Mr. Lukas Holub, Head of Political and Justice and Home Affairs at the Delegation of the European Union, Mr. Oliver Spasovski, Minister of Interior and Mr. Andrea D’Angelo, FICB PS Project Director. Project's team-leader Mr. Aleksander Krebl will present the strategic goals and results expected to be achieved by consistent implementation of the Police Development Strategy.
